Joey graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, with an associate degree in petroleum technology in 1985 and a B.S.B.A. degree in accounting in 1989. Joey began his career in healthcare in 1992 with a public accounting firm, where he took over the healthcare department and grew it into a large department. Joey’s area of practice includes auditing and accounting of hospitals and nursing homes, third-party reimbursement for both nursing homes and hospitals, and taxation. Joey joined the team at Lester, Miller & Wells in August of 2016.
Joey is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and the Louisiana Society of CPAs, as well as a member of the Louisiana Rural Health Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and has earned the Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) designation. Joey has also earned the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation.
Jason graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May of 1996, where he earned a B.S.B.A. degree in accounting. Jason started working in the accounting department of a small rural hospital in Louisiana, where he was first introduced to hospital accounting and Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting. After working at this hospital for four years, Jason moved on to public accounting. He worked for 17 years at a mid-sized public accounting firm where he specialized in healthcare audits, hospital billing, healthcare budgeting and projections, accounts receivable allowance analysis and preparation of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for various types of healthcare clients. Jason joined the team at Lester, Miller & Wells, in August of 2016.
Jason is a member of the Louisiana Rural Health Association and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), in which he has earned the Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) designation. Trae’ earned his B.S.B.A. degree in accounting in 2011 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He started his career in public accounting working at a local CPA firm in Lafayette, where he was promoted from staff accountant to tax manager and ultimately tax partner. In 2021, he joined Lester, Miller & Wells. Trae’ earned the following licenses: CPA in 2013 and CVA in 2015. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and the Louisiana Society of CPAs. He served on the board of Leadership Institute of Acadiana from 2014 until 2020, in various capacities including treasurer and on the finance committee. Trae’ serves as the tax manager for the Firm by providing policy and guidance, as well as research and solutions on day to day and complex tax issues for individuals and businesses.
Jill earned her B.S.B.A. degree in both accounting and business management in 2004 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. After graduation, she started her career working in nursing home administration through 2009. During this tenure, Jill earned her license as a Nursing Facility Administrator. She started her work in public accounting in 2009 and joined Lester, Miller & Wells in 2016. Jill prepares monthly financial statement compilations, as well as nursing home Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. She also prepares quarterly and annual payroll tax reports.

Matthew earned his B.S.B.A. degree in both finance and accounting in 2010 and 2012, respectively, from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He started his career in public accounting working as an intern and then full-time upon graduation. In 2016, he joined Lester, Miller & Wells. Matthew works on the Firm’s audit team for hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Additionally, he prepares financial statement compilations, as well as hospital, nursing home and rural health clinic cost reports.
Andrew earned his B.S. degree in accounting in 2013 from Nicholls State University. He started his career in public accounting upon graduation. From 2016 to 2020, Andrew worked for the Acadia Parish School Board as an accountant. In 2020, Andrew joined Lester, Miller & Wells and returned to public accounting. Andrew earned his CPA license in 2015. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and the Louisiana Society of CPAs. He prepares hospital, nursing home and rural health clinic Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. He works on the Firm’s audit team for healthcare facilities. Additionally, Andrew prepares individual and business income tax returns.
