After earning a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1972 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, John worked for nine years with Louisiana’s Medicare and Medicaid fiscal intermediary, Blue Cross of Louisiana.  In 1981 he was one of the founding partners of the accounting firm of Lester, Miller & Wells.  John has devoted his entire accounting career to the healthcare industry.  He has worked with local, regional, and national fiscal intermediary (now Medicare Administrative Contractor or MAC) representatives on many complex reimbursement issues facing the healthcare industry.  John has worked with Louisiana healthcare trade organizations on continuing education programs, in developing and editing legislation which has facilitated paying Louisiana providers enhanced Medicaid interim rates, uncompensated care (DSH or UCC) and upper payment limit (UPL) amounts.

 

John is an advanced member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), past board member of the Louisiana Chapter of HFMA (LaHFMA), a member of the Louisiana Rural Health Association, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and the Louisiana Society of CPAs.  He has authored several articles for the Louisiana Ledger, published by the LaHFMA.  John has spoken at many seminars on Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting and reimbursement issues sponsored by the Louisiana Hospital Association, the Louisiana and Mississippi Chapters of HFMA, the Louisiana Rural Health Association, and the Rural Hospital Coalition, Inc.

Bobby received a B.B.A. degree in accounting from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, in 1979.  His experience since 1979 includes working at Blue Cross of Louisiana, a Medicare fiscal intermediary (now known as Medicare Administrative Contractor or MAC), as a Senior Auditor (five years) and as a CPA devoting his efforts to the healthcare industry.  His experience lies in the area of third-party reimbursement and auditing.  He is licensed to practice in both Louisiana and Texas.

 

Bobby is an advanced member and past President of the Louisiana Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).  He has been designated a “Fellow” by HFMA and holds certifications in Accounting & Finance, as well as Revenue Cycle.  He is also a member of the Louisiana Hospital Association, Louisiana Rural Health Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and the Louisiana Society of CPAs.  Bobby has spoken at seminars on Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting and reimbursement issues sponsored by trade organizations such as the Louisiana Hospital Association and the Louisiana Chapter of HFMA.

Paul earned his B.S.B.A. in Accounting in 1990 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  He has practiced public accounting at Lester, Miller & Wells since graduation from college.  In 1993, he earned his CPA license and in 1998 he became a principal of the Firm.  His areas of practice include auditing and accounting, third-party reimbursement, and taxation.  The majority of his practice is related to healthcare ranging from rural hospitals to free-standing rural health clinics. 

 

Paul is a member of the Louisiana Rural Healthcare Association, the Louisiana Hospital Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and the Louisiana Society of CPAs.  He has spoken at seminars related to healthcare accounting, auditing, and third-party reimbursement sponsored by the Louisiana Rural Health Association, Louisiana Chapter of HFMA and the Rural Hospital Coalition, Inc. 

Mary graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. degree in accounting from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.  Mary began her accounting career with Lester, Miller & Wells in 1984.  Mary earned her CPA license in 1985 and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation in 2013.  She has served as President of the Central Louisiana Chapter of Louisiana CPAs and an adjunct instructor of accounting for Louisiana State University at Alexandria.  

 

In addition to her public accounting experience, Mary was business director for an ambulatory surgery center and was employed for eight years by the Jacksonville Jaguars football organization as accounting manager and controller. She is a member of Medical Group Management Association, Louisiana Medical Group Managers Association, Louisiana Hospital Association, Louisiana Rural Health Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and the Louisiana Society of CPAs.

Karlie earned her B.S. degree in finance in 2013 and a Master of Professional Accounting in 2014 from Louisiana Tech University.  She began her career at Lester, Miller & Wells in 2014.  In 2017, Karlie earned her CPA license and become a principal of the Firm in 2021.  Her areas of practice include auditing and accounting and third-party reimbursement.  Karlie is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the Louisiana Rural Health Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and the Louisiana Society of CPAs.

 

She manages multiple audits of healthcare facilities and assists with the quality control team for the Firm’s annual inspections.  Karlie prepares hospital and home health Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. 

Timothy graduated magna cum laude with a B.S.B.A. degree in accounting from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and summa cum laude with a M.S. degree in accounting in 2017.  While in graduate school, Timothy started his career in public accounting at a CPA firm preparing taxes and bookkeeping for small businesses.  In 2017, he joined Lester, Miller & Wells.  Timothy earned his CPA license in 2020.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and the Louisiana Society of CPAs.  He prepares hospital and nursing home Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.  He manages multiple audits of healthcare facilities.  Timothy has assisted the Firm by utilizing advanced Excel skills to develop various templates used in Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting.  In addition, Timothy has used his programming skills to build a custom auditing Excel add-in using VB.net programming for Firm use.

Jane earned her B.B.A. degree in accounting in 1993 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.  She earned her CPA license in 1995.  In 1998, Jane joined Lester, Miller & Wells.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and the Louisiana Society of CPAs.  She prepares hospital and nursing home Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.  She manages multiple audits of healthcare facilities.  Additionally, she is assigned to the Firm’s inspection team for quality control.

Johnny earned his B.S. degree in accounting in 2016 from Louisiana State University at Shreveport.  He worked at a public CPA firm from 2015 to 2016.  In 2016, he joined Lester, Miller & Wells.  He prepares hospital, nursing home and rural health clinic Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.  Johnny is a vital part of the audit team for various healthcare facilities.

Sandy earned her B.S.B.A. degree in accounting in 2018 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  In 2019, she joined Lester, Miller & Wells.  She prepares hospital, nursing home and rural health clinic Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.  Sandy also works on the audit team for various healthcare facilities.  

Robin graduated from Louisiana College in May 1983 with an associate degree in office administration.   Robin has been with Lester, Miller & Wells since 1982.  She provides data entry for the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.  Robin works with clients in the area of payroll and bookkeeping.
